Fundraising event'

The WAC will host the Shaving Event for Tania and a number of other participants on Saturday 13th March 2010.

In the foyer of the Woolloongabba Antique Centre we will be setting up and old fashioned Beauty Parlour and Barbers Shop. Complete with powder puffs, hair dyers, rollers and makeup and of course clippers! We will be colouring, shaving hair & doing makeovers  between 10 – 2pm on Saturday 13th March. We will have some funky old scarves to make the coolest of vintage style turbans. A Number of the Dealers here at the WAC have also kindly offered a donation of a % of their sales for the day. We hope to not only raise a large sum of money to donate, but also raise awareness for this great foundation. My mum was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2008, this has taken my family down a road of discovery as we learn more about myeloma while mum has been bravely going through treatment. I realised very quickly that few knew about Multiple Myeloma, and that there are still a lot of unknown factors relating to the disorder, much more research needs to be done to understand the complexities and more

Tania’s Story:

“ My mum was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2008, this has taken my family down a road of discovery as we learn more about myeloma while mum has been bravely going through treatment. I realised very quickly that few knew about Multiple Myeloma, and that there are still a lot of unknown factors relating to the disorder, much more research needs to be done to understand the complexities and to find a cure. By taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave 2010, the money I raise will go towards further research as well as care and support for patients and families living with leukaemia’s, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. Please sponsor me so we can raise awareness for this together!”

We are very excited to assist Tania in her quest to raise much needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
